Our contract with you

2.1 The following are the terms and conditions on which products are supplied to you. These products are either training courses or aesthetic model treatments provided on our courses.

2.2 If the product provided by us is a training course, you are the delegate attending the course. If the product provided by us or our delegates is an aesthetic model treatment during our training course, you are the model attending our course.

2.3 You must read these terms carefully, understand them and be accepting of their contents prior to submitting your order with us. The terms outline who we are, how we deliver our products to you how you can terminate your contract with us. If you are unsure about the contents of these terms, please do not hesitate to contact us via email on info@britishaestheticacademy.com.

2.4 Our contract: these terms apply to the order placed by you in relation to the products provided by us outlined in clauses 2.1 and 2.2.

2.5 Your agreement: by submitting your order for our products or services, you agree to be bound by these terms in their entirety.

2.6 You agree that all information provided by you to us at the time of submitting your order is accurate and complete. For delegates, this includes information relating to your professional regulatory body and your professional regulatory body registration number. For models this includes information on your personal medical history, medications you take, your pregnancy and breastfeeding status and your age.

2.7 If any information provided to us is inaccurate, incomplete or false, we shall be entitled to terminate the contract with you, cancel your place on the course as a delegate or cancel your aesthetic treatment as a model, without a refund.

Refunds, Amendments and Cancellations

3.1.1 Upon placing your order and booking your place as a delegate to attend our training course, you will receive automated instant access to our course material. This is digital content that contains the theory training material for our course.

3.1.2 Therefore, by submitting your order and booking your place as a delegate to attend our training course, you are giving your consent to waive the 14-day cooling-off period as per the Consumer Rights Act and Consumer Contracts Regulations, and you agree that 50% of the course fee is immediately non-refundable.

3.2 By submitting your order and booking your place as a model to receive aesthetic treatments or procedures on our course, you agree that a £50 booking fee becomes immediately non-refundable.

3.3 You agree that bookings cancelled less than 30 days prior to the course date, including non-attendance on the day of the course, are 100% non-refundable. This applies to both course bookings as a delegate and treatment and procedure bookings as a model.

3.4 Order or booking cancellation requests must be received by us in writing via email on info@britishaestheticacademy.com.

3.5 We require a minimum of 30 days written notice, via email on info@britishaestheticacademy.com, to make any changes to your course booking or training dates. We regret that we are unable to make any changes to your course dates or bookings that fall within 30 days of the course date.

3.6 In the event that a course booking or model treatment appointment has been rescheduled following a request to do so by a delegate or model, the new course date or model treatment appointment are final and cannot be changed again. The initial course booking date or model treatment appointment date will be used for the processing of refund or cancellation requests. For example, if a course was initially booked for 1st Jan 2020 then rescheduled following a request by a delegate to 1st April 2020, the 30 day period where the booking fee becomes 100% non-refundable will still apply to the initial 1st Jan 2020 date.

3.7 If we are forced to cancel a training course due to an event beyond our control in exceptional circumstances such as and not limited to natural or man-made disasters, flood, fire, earthquake, civil unrest, war or any factors outside our control, we will endeavour to provide an alternative training course at a future date. Any requests to cancel your booking in such circumstances will be honoured with a full refund.

3.8 We reserve the right to amend or cancel any training course date and location and we will contact you immediately to offer an alternative. Having said that, we do not accept responsibility for any travel or accommodation expenses or costs that you may have incurred.

Model Treatments & Bookings

4.1 The British Aesthetic Academy is a training academy not a cosmetic clinic. Treatments are offered for cosmetic models to facilitate training on our courses for the purpose of education. Model treatments are heavily discounted for this reason.

4.2 To book a model treatment, you must be over the age of 18, not pregnant and not breastfeeding.

4.3 By booking a cosmetic model treatment, you agree to be punctual and adhere to appointment dates and times for the smooth running of our training courses.

4.4 Unlike cosmetic clinics, as a training academy our appointment dates and times are strictly fixed, and we are unable to make cancellations or amendments within 30 days of the appointment date. No-shows or late cancellations will result in the full payment being retained by us. The appointment will not be rescheduled, and no refunds will be issued.

4.5 The British Aesthetic Academy is not obliged to provide any treatment of any kind to cosmetic models, and we reserve the right to cancel any treatment which we do not deem appropriate or suitable. For this reason, we may request photographs from you upon booking your model treatment, to ensure you would be a suitable candidate.

4.6 Model treatments take place in a communal hall, in small groups of delegates. There are no partitions between groups and there may be more than 1 model undergoing treatment within the same communal room at the same time, by a different group of delegates. You will be asked general questions relating to the treatment and your medical health. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee absolute privacy during your appointment, and by booking a cosmetic model treatment, you confirm that you acknowledge and accept this.

4.7 Cosmetic model treatments are performed by our course delegates, all of whom are qualified healthcare professionals, being trained in how to administer non-surgical aesthetic treatments under the close supervision of experienced trainers. If a trainer feels a delegate needs help, they will take over to complete the treatment and rectify any issues if required.

4.8 Treatment results are subjective and while we will advise of the likely outcome, this should in no way be interpreted as a guarantee. Moreover, given that treatments are being performed in a training environment, results may not be the same as those achieved by experienced practitioners in a cosmetic clinic. By booking a model treatment, you confirm that you are aware and agree to this. It is your own decision to receive non-surgical aesthetic treatments at the British Aesthetic Academy, and acknowledge that you are being treated in a training environment.

4.9 As a company, we do not make a financial profit from model treatments. The fees paid by you cover the cost of cosmetic products used for the treatments and booking administration fees. We do not offer any refunds.

4.10 We train our delegates using safe & standardised methods. Unlike treatments offered in a cosmetic clinic, model treatments are not bespoke, and we use specific landmarks and doses which follow safety principles, to minimise the risks of complications.

4.11 As per clause 4.9, the heavily discounted treatment fees you pay cover the cost of the products used. The fees paid for each treatment are for specific standardised units of Botulinum Toxin and volumes of Dermal Filler, not for bespoke results.

4.12 Given that different individuals have different physiology, anatomy and metabolism, the British Aesthetic Academy cannot guarantee that different cosmetic models will respond in the same way to the standardised doses and treatments we use. For example, a model that has stronger or larger facial muscles, may require more units of Botulinum Toxin to achieve similar anti-wrinkle results as a model that has weaker or smaller facial muscles. Similarly, models with deeper lines and hollows may require more volume of Dermal Filler to achieve similar results as a model with less pronounced lines and hollows.

4.13 We advise all our cosmetic models to wait 14 days after the initial treatment to assess the final treatment outcome, once the product has fully taken and swelling / bruising has resolved.

4.14 The duration of treatment outcomes varies from person to person, based on individual physiology, anatomy & metabolism. Results can last shorter in some individuals and longer in others.

4.15 No refund will be issued if a treatment does not achieve the desired outcome or result duration (for example, having residual wrinkles after Botulinum Toxin treatment).

4.16 Unlike cosmetic clinics, as an academy that charges discounted fees largely to cover product costs, ‘Top-up’ treatments are not free. Models requiring higher doses or volumes of product to achieve bespoke result can do so for an additional fee to cover additional product cost. As per clause 4.13, we advise our cosmetic models to allow 14 days to appreciate the final treatment results.

4.17 For Botulinum Toxin treatments, models have 21 days from the initial treatment date to notify us if they would like a ‘Top-up’. These are charged per treatment area to cover product cost: £20 for 1 area, £40 for 2 areas and £50 for 3 areas. ‘Top-ups’ must take place within 4 weeks of the initial treatment date. Outside this period, the full fee of a new treatment would be chargeable.

4.18 We do not offer ‘Top-ups’ for Dermal Filler treatments. If more volume of product is required, this can be booked as a new treatment.

4.19 As per the Treatment Aftercare Advice Sheet that you will be provided with, in the event of a complication or adverse reaction, we request that you contact us immediately via telephone or WhatsApp on 02031513051. Out of hours or if you are unable to reach us in an emergency, we advise you to attend your nearest Accident & Emergency department for urgent help, and contact us to update us at the earliest possible opportunity.

4.20 If a corrective treatment is required following a treatment performed at our academy (for example, if you are concerned about asymmetry or a lump after Dermal Filler treatment), we endeavour to offer a complimentary review. We request that you send us photographs / videos of the area of concern, to be reviewed by our trainers. Our trainers can offer remote advice if deemed sufficient or may advise you to attend an in-person review appointment for complimentary corrective treatment. If the treatment outcome is deemed by our trainers to be satisfactory, and only more product is required, as per clause 4.16, an additional fee would be chargeable to cover product cost.

4.21 Review appointments are performed by our experienced trainers at the end of each course day (evening appointments only). We will endeavour to offer you an appointment at the earliest possible date (next available course).

4.22 Review appointments must take place within 4 weeks of initial treatment date for Botulinum Toxin treatments, and within 2 months of the initial treatment date for Dermal Filler treatments.

4.23 Review appointments cannot be rescheduled once confirmed. Models failing to attend a review appointment will not be offered further complimentary reviews.

Our Obligations

5.1 We endeavour to provide a safe environment for all our delegates and models and provide courses that meet the latest HEE requirements.

5.2 Our course is fully accredited and insured by Cosmetic Insure, a leading aesthetic indemnity provider authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. The course indemnity will cover you whilst performing treatments and procedures on live models, under direct supervision by our trainers.

5.3 We strive to train our delegates on live models in all our courses. We do not require you to bring your own models. Whilst we endeavour to provide a complete list of models for our course, we do not guarantee models for every single procedure. We will not be held responsible if due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, there are models absent on the day of the course.

5.4 We provide our delegates with reading material to complement training delivered on the course. This material remains the intellectual property of the British Aesthetic Academy.

5.5 We offer employment and marketing advice for all our delegates as part of the course curriculum. Having said that, we do not guarantee employment for our delegates and will not be held responsible if you are unable to secure employment in the field of aesthetics.

5.6 The current position in the United Kingdom is that the field of aesthetics is unregulated. We have constructed our course content in line with the Health Education England (HEE) 2016 recommendations. Our course curriculum has been assessed, approved and accredited by the UK’s leading cosmetic insurance providers, who recognise our training as valid for indemnity purposes. We will not be held responsible if in future, laws or guidelines change, or if further requirements or future qualifications not covered by our course become mandatory to perform aesthetic treatments.

5.7 During our course, we endeavour to provide refreshments, food and beverages. We request that if you have any specific food allergies or requests to inform our team on info@britishaestheticacademy.com no sooner than 14 days prior to the course date.

Your Obligations

6.1 By booking your space on our course, you confirm that you hold full registration with your respective professional regulatory body (GMC, GDC, NMC, GPhC) and must be able to provide evidence of your registration number. We do welcome overseas delegates not registered in the UK, however we will still request evidence that you are a healthcare professional. Failure to do so will result in you being declined entry to our course and your booking being cancelled without refund.

6.2 You must arrive to our course on time. Failure to do so may result in you being declined entry or not being certified.

6.3 You agree that you may not be allowed to administer injectable treatments during our course if you fail to arrive on time or miss parts of the course that we deem necessary for your training.

6.4 Travel expenses or accommodation fees are your responsibility and you agree that we will not be held liable for any of these costs.

6.5 We reserve the right to decline or cancel course bookings and evict delegates from our courses who we deem disruptive, insulting or abusive to any of our staff, delegates and models, without providing a refund.

6.6 In exceptional circumstances where we feel a delegate is unsafe and persistently refuses to follow instructions or behaves in an unsafe manner, we reserve the right to terminate their participation in our course, without providing a refund.

6.7 You acknowledge and agree not to redistribute, copy or share any of the course material or training provided to you by us. All course material given to you remains the intellectual property of the British Aesthetic Academy.

6.8 You acknowledge and agree that any information shared with you by delegates, models and staff is strictly confidential. You must not retain any personal data obtained during the course, particularly of our models, or use it for any other purpose aside from providing supervised aesthetic treatments during our course.

6.9 You agree not to take any photographs during the course of any models or procedures being performed on models. If a model provides you explicit consent to take before and after photographs of their aesthetic treatment, you can only use these as part of your training and reflection. You must not use such photographs on your social media, website or any channels of information technology for personal gain or marketing.

6.10 You acknowledge and agree that we may take photographs or videos of you during the course which we may use, share and distribute online and on our social media platforms for purposes of marketing. If you wish to opt out of having your photos taken, please highlight this to our team at the start of the course.

6.11 You agree for us to use any of your reviews or testimonials online and on our social media channels.

6.12 You agree to comply with all the course venue’s rules and regulations.
